I'm So Glad You're Here
Releasing soon.
This record was self-produced and recorded over the past two years in my apartment in Allston MA and at The Record Co. in Dorchester.
Very special thanks to Matt, Jake, Jack, Tyler, Q, Forrest, Brendan, the rest of foamflower, Toni T and Carly, Jason and Dan, and my folks.
This record, to me, is a collection of a lot of different influences and feelings. There are a lot of different musical influences included throughout: DIIV, Gustav Mahler, Aphex Twin, Porches, Ovlov and Pet Fox, Caribou, Alex G, A Beacon School, George Clanton, Mount Kimbie, Beach Fossils and House, Beck, Wild Nothing, and Neil Young. There are a lot of different feelings throughout. This record is hating and fearing and being scared and feeling guilty. This record is pulling at the thread of an old sweater. This record is letting go and then snatching back. This record is grocery store sushi. It's the feeling of when you're at the beach and a wave crashes into you and water clogs up your nose and your head. This record is sped up footage of the flag melting into maggots like a fox in one of those timelapse decomposition science videos. And it's bald, fat fools in stupid, stretched-out army costumes covered in grease and cigar dust stuffing cash into their belts. It's also a tiny little worm, with a little penciled-on face, wriggling into the folds of a brain that's kept under a heat lamp. This record is a damp parking lot on a summer night in a valley of car dealerships and Kmart strip malls. Mostly it's letting go and snatching back.
All sounds, production, mixing, mastering by Zac Kerwin except !! drums on 2, 3, 6, 9 by Matt MacKenzie and 4 and 8 by Jake Farlow.
